So in love.

December 23, 2008

I’m tired and I’m going to keep this short because I’ll never publish this if I don’t.   I was watching Antiques Roadshow, which is entertaining in a weird way, but usually none of the items shown interest me that much even though a lot of the items are interesting themselves.   However, this time I must have  tuned in at the right exact moment because when I did I saw this beautiful, silk embroidered mourning picture and gasped.  Now I want to collect them, and I am not a collector of anything.  Of course, the one thing I want to collect turns out to be really goddamn expensive.

Honestly, that picture doesn’t even do it justice.  In fact, I think the picture makes it look ugly when it is anything but.   In the right hand corner of the Roadshow Archive there is a video of the mourning picture which shows it off so much better than that crappy picture I embedded.   If only I had $15,000-20,000, that bitch would be MINE.

That is oddly hypnotic. It’s hard to turn away. It looks like it’s from both medieval and 19th century styles.

I know! Isn’t it crazy beautiful?

Been looking online for more of that style, but none that I have found even compare to this one.

That really is lovely! The time it must have taken to stitch all that! Wow! Talk about skillz!
